Last year, a new incentive contest was created to show the true spirit of Relay For Life. Teams were challenged to collect Spirit Points. It was a huge success! For Relay 2004, we are continuing this incentive and welcome everyone’s participation. The team with the most Spirit Points at the completion of Relay will be awarded the Spirit Award, a traveling trophy to proudly display!

The chart below lists a breakdown of the ways teams can collect points so far.

Points	Activity
1000	CONGRATULATIONS TO THE TEAM CAPTAINS THAT EARNED 1000 POINTS EACH FOR WEIGHING IN AT THE 1/13/04 TEAM CAPTAIN'S MEETING!

100	Captain or other Team Representative attends Team Captain Meeting (Per person)
100	Dress in color theme for each Team Captain Meeting Dress in pink – top and bottom – for February 17^th meeting Dress in white – top and bottom – for March 30^th meeting Dress in purple – top and bottom – for May 12^th meeting
100	Fill out REGISTRATION ENVELOPE and REGISTRATION FORMS Correctly *Correctly-filled-out envelopes are: Accurate, Legible & Each person’s fee is in the envelope
100	Get SURVIVORS to pre register for the Survivor’s Reception Survivor does not have to be on team-can be anyone wanting to attend the reception (100 per survivor)
100	Sign up and sponsor team activity during Relay
100	Volunteer with on-site jobs
100	100 per pound lost during registered Active for Life participation

500	Found eating nutritious foods at Relay
500	Found wearing a hat or sunscreen at Relay
500	Participate in “Active for Life” Relay Challenge (500 per person)
500	Participate in events during Relay
500	Recruit a new team for Relay 2004
500	Sign pledge to Serve on Relay Committee for 2005 (500 per person)
500	State your Team Goal & sign a pledge by the February 17^th meeting to raise that amount
500	Turn in half of your pledged Team Goal by the March 16^th Bank Day
500	Registration fees combined for entire team and turned in on one Cashier's Check

1000	Attend Mary Baldwin College Relay Event (1000 per team member) (If possible-attend the opening ceremony and luminaria event) You must see a member from Wilson Relay at MBC to get points Only registered team members eligible for points
1000	Decorate your campsite with Relay 2004 theme
1000	Meet goal set for the “Active for Life” (1000 per person)
1000	Participate in Online Cancer Control Quiz Quiz will be on the website in February: relayforlife.ntelos.net
1000	Per registered SURVIVOR as a member of your team
1000	Register your team by the February 17^th meeting
1000	Submit a Healthy Recipe for use on the Website (Make sure to include nutritional info and source for recipe)

5000	Get a Business to be a Corporate Sponsor (5000 per business) (Talk to Hugh or Suzanne Hall to get Corporate Sponsor info)
5000	Sign up to be a Road to Recovery Driver (Talk to Wendy Osinkosky about the program)

Reminders:

· You must keep track of your points and submit them by the deadline at Relay for them to be counted!

· All points must be validated by a 2004 Committee member to be valid.

· For many activities, you will need to ask a Committee member to validate your points on the spot. (i.e. – dressing at a meeting for 100 points)

· If your Tally Sheet is lost, you will need to start over. Please keep this sheet with your Relay materials at all times.
